Arsenal face the possibility of losing talented young striker Folarin Balogun on a free transfer this summer.
The 19-year-old is out of contract at Arsenal in June and Liverpool, Stuttgart and Swansea are among the clubs reportedly interested in acquiring his signature.
The Gunners are working on a new deal for Balogun, who has contributed two goals and an assist in four Europa League appearances this season, but have not yet reached an agreement.
Manager Mikel Arteta said on Thursday that the club were “doing everything we can to keep him here” and negotiations were ongoing, but his departure was a possibility.
"Well, you need three parties to make a deal," he said.
"For sure the club wants to make a deal, the manager wants to make a deal, and I'm not sure about the agent."
Balogun could feature on Saturday when Arsenal begin their defence of the FA Cup with a home tie against Newcastle in the third round.
The club would clearly like to keep hold of the England Under-20 international and their stance has been reiterated by captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who has been impressed by what he has seen of Balogun.
"For sure, he is very, very talented, and he shows every time he trains with us that he's a really great talent and he works a lot and is a humble guy as well," he said in November.
"I like his style, you know. I like his style: he is like an American rapper. It's cool!
"I don't see him a lot, but he's a cool guy. We sometimes have a laugh with him and Laca [Alexandre Lacazette]."
Balogun has made five substitute appearances so far this season, but could be in line for a first start on Saturday as the club try to convince him to sign a new contract.
"He is fit and available," Arteta said in his pre-match press conference.
"Again his progression and the use of the time he’s had with us has been incredible, good. And he will keep having chances while he’s with us."
