Arsenal's Emiliano Martinez attempts to explain social media 'like' about Unai Emery's future

Arsenal goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez has claimed that his social media account was hacked after appearing to like a post calling for Unai Emery to be sacked.

Fans spotted yesterday (Thursday) that Martinez had appeared to 'like' a post on Instagram that had called for people to "like for Emery out."

Martinez's Instagram name appeared among the list of accounts to like the post, which sparked debate among some Arsenal fans as to the legitimacy of the image, as can be seen below.

But the goalkeeper, who is currently away on international duty with Argentina, has now moved to try and explain what happened, by taking to Instagram to claim that someone else has been using his account.

In a message via his Instagram page, he said: “Hi everyone, someone hacked my account over the past 24 hours, but I’m back now.”

The future of the Arsenal boss is the subject of much speculation following a poor run of recent results, with the Gunners currently sixth in the Premier League, eight points behind Manchester City in fourth.

Emery has been backed by the Arsenal hierarchy though, with the Gunners board recently releasing a statement to say that the Spaniard is the "right man for the job".

The statement also called for everyone to stick together as the club try to turn things around after the start to the season.
