Arsenal's Eddie Nketiah sends message after scoring stunning hat-trick for England under-21s

It was a night to remember for Eddie Nketiah.

The Arsenal starlet scored a hat-trick during England under-21s' victory over Austria on Tuesday night - a game which they won 5-1.

Nketiah also missed a penalty, but that wasn't enough to ruin a memorable night for the young striker.

Taking to social media after the game, the 20-year-old couldn't hide his delight at scoring three goals for his country.

He said: "Top performance from the boys tonight! Unreal feeling to score a hat-trick for England."

The three goals were something of a statement as the 20-year-old struggles to secure regular first team football this term.

The Arsenal striker joined the Championship side on a season-long loan deal in the summer but has failed to break into Marcelo Bielsa's starting XI despite scoring four goals in eight appearances for the Yorkshire side - many of which have been from the bench.

Reports have suggested that the Gunners could line up another loan move for the striker in January if his situation doesn't improve, but as reported by Football.London , no discussions have taken place..

Nketiah didn't let the speculation bother him on Tuesday night as he bagged a hat-trick for England under-21s, but speaking after the game he did vent his frustration at his club situation.

He said: "I'm just trying to do as much as I can, you know.

"Obviously I'll never be happy with being on the bench. I want to play and pride myself on being in the team and I'm good enough to be in the team.

"All I can do is put in the performances that I do.

"When I come on I try and contribute and I think with the chances I've had I've done really well. I'm always trying to help the team when I come on and going away with England is always a great opportunity to put a case forward and show myself.

"It's a great platform and I'm grateful to be here. I just want to continue doing well at this level and for Leeds."
