Arsenal's dream Carabao Cup quarter-final opponents revealed as Chelsea and Liverpool await

The draw for the Carabao Cup quarter-final takes place on Saturday.

And some Arsenal fans have already revealed their dream opponents for the next round following what happened on Tuesday night.

Second half goals from Calum Chambers and Eddie Nketiah were enough for the Gunners to overcome Leeds United at the Emirates Stadium and become the first team to reach the quarter-final.

That is because the other two fourth round ties on the night ended in a draw after 90 minutes, therefore going all the way to a penalty shootout, with Chelsea and Sunderland getting the better of Southampton and Queens Park Rangers respectively.

Speaking after the Black Cats' victory in west London - which sealed their first appearance at this stage of the competition since reaching the final in the 2013/14 season - manager Lee Johnson was asked who he would like to draw next.

As the lowest-ranked team left in this season's Carabao Cup, Sunderland will certainly be the underdogs against whomever they're drawn against.

However, a potential trip to the Emirates in December doesn't appear to faze Johnson at all.

"I’d love to have Arsenal away or Tottenham away, or someone like that," Johnson said. "Then we will wait for the really big guns when it is two legs."

Whilst some Gunners supporters have seen the funny side to Johnson's comments - especially about drawing the 'really big guns' in the semi-final - they are also in agreement on Reddit that being paired with Sunderland would be the dream quarter-final tie.

Sunderland are one of seven potential opponents for Arsenal in the Carabao Cup quarter-final alongside London rivals Chelsea and the winners of Wednesday's remaining five ties.

The draw will take place live on Saturday morning (October 30) on Sky Sports between 10:00 and 12:00 on both Main Event and Premier League channels.
