Arsenal's head of football operations Huss Fahmy has formally left the club this afternoon, Friday, October 30.
Sources close to the club have told football.london that Fahmy's departure from the Gunners was 'amicable'.
Fahmy's departure was communicated to the Arsenal staff via a newsletter sent over email this afternoon and it comes just three months after Raul Sanllehi was removed from his position as head of football at Emirates Stadium.
Fahmy joined Arsenal in 2017 as part of the reshuffle that included seeing Vinai Venkatesham become chief executive of the club and Sanllehi take over as football director.
He had been heavily involved in contract negotiations for the club over the past three years, most notably in renegotiating deals for key players.
He arrived from Sky where he had served as the head of legal and commercial for Team Sky, the professional cycling outfit, where he negotiated with a number of important rights holders for the six time Tour de France winning team.
After arriving at the club Fahmy began with shadowing transfer negotiator Dick Law before replacing him in September of 2017, and was involved in contract extensions for the likes of Mohamed Elneny, a number of academy graduates and more recently Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's new deal.
Fahmy was also involved in the club's managerial appointments of Unai Emery and Mikel Arteta.
KSE (Kroenke Sports & Entertainment) appointed lawyer Tim Lewis as Arsenal's non-executive director in July this year and it's understood he was behind Sanllehi's departure one month later.
However, football.london has been told that Fahmy took the decision to leave the club because he had 'less power' in his role
Technical director Edu has taken a lead on transfer negotiations and a number of in-house lawyers are able to work on contracts alongside him.
