Arsenal's defeat at Brighton labelled 'embarrassing and unacceptable' as Maupay takes sideswipe

Here is the Arsenal morning digest on Sunday, June 21.

Maupay launches verbal attack

Brighton forward Neal Maupay laid into Arsenal’s players and claimed they 'got what they deserved' after failing to another defeat.

Speaking afterwards the forward then unleashed a verbal attack on Mikel Arteta’s side, claiming they needed to learn some humility and they got what they deserved at the Amex.

And their second defeat in four days leaves their European ambitions in tatters, with Crouch pulling no punches as he summed up the Gunners’ performance at Brighton for BT Sport.

And while Arteta refused to criticise Neal Maupay for his role in an incident that Bernd Leno stretchered off, the Spaniard was critical of his side’s defending.
