Arsenal's Alexandre Lacazette ruled out until October with ankle injury

Alexandre Lacazette has been ruled out until October with an ankle injury.

The Arsenal forward has been playing through the pain for the past few weeks but will be out of action until next month.

The Frenchman had a recent assessment on his ankle and was advised to rest to ensure he didn't further aggravate the injury.

Arsenal take on Watford this weekend looking to get back to winning ways following a draw with bitter north London rivals Tottenham before the international break.

Lacazette started the match at the Emirates and was even on the scoresheet as the Gunners battled back after going two goals behind.

Arsenal haven't provided a date on when Lacazette is expected to be back in action.

But the Gunners could be without him for some crucial fixtures, including their opening Europa League group stage game against Eintracht Frankfurt.
