Arsenal's 2021/22 Adidas kit 'leaked' with serious Ajax and Marc Overmars vibe

Leaked kit season is well and truly upon us, and we already have our first Arsenal shirt in the flesh.

It's that time of the year again when fans get excited about how their next shirt will look, and for Arsenal fans, the new shirt could prove a symbol to be the fresh start they need.

The Gunners' latest Premier League defeat, a 3-0 collapse at the hands of Liverpool, has left their chances of qualifying for Europe via the league close to nil.

There is still the hope of qualifying through the Europa League with Arsenal at the quarter-final stage and with plenty of hope of making it to the semi-finals, but this has largely been a season to forget for Mikel Arteta's men.

And so what better way to look ahead than a new kit for a new season?

Thanks to FootyHeadlines, we already have a sneak peek at what the next Gunners home shirt could look like, and not just in the usual concept form of a digital mockup.

This leaked shirt is already in physical form and it has some real nostalgia to it.

The shirt is similar to ones worn between 1998-2000, which featured JVC and then Dreamcast as a sponsor, though it doesn't have the navy stripe to break up the red and white, instead having navy Adidas stripes on the shoulder.

And so the shirt is very much similar to what you would expect an Ajax home shirt to look like with the white running down each side of the shirt.

One Ajax fan @RobertMackaaij joked on Twitter "Designed by M. Overmars and D. Bergkamp?" while Arsenal fans have mixed views with one fan @Byrinho writing "Oh god, that's horrible" and @sunsetGooner writing "long sleeeve take my money."
