Arsenal refused to meet Renato Sanches price as fans react to William Saliba transfer talk

Here is your Arsenal morning digest on Tuesday, November 16.

Gunners refuse to meet asking price for Sanches

Arsenal reportedly tried to sign Renato Sanches in the summer transfer window, but were unwilling to meet Lille’s €35million (£30million) asking price.

That is according to Gazetta dello Sport, via football365, who state that Lille were open to selling Sanches, but they were not offering the 24-year-old out for a cut-price figure.

Essentially, as the Ligue 1 outfit were unwilling to negotiate, the Gunners were put off and addressed other targets instead.

Kulusevski makes Arsenal feelings clear

One man who has been linked with a move to the Emirates in recent weeks is Juventus striker Dejan Kulusevski, with an ageing striking contingent provoking a hunt for reinforcements.

If Arsenal are to land the Sweden international, however, they will have to beat a number of clubs including Tottenham, but the Gunners have a crucial advantage and that is the thoughts of the player himself.

Back in 2019, Kulusevski appeared on Swedish podcast Lundh. At the start of the show, the host Olof Lundh asks a number of quickfire questions, one of which was: what is your favourite team and why?

Kulusevski came back quickly: "My favourite team is Arsenal, because I like everything about the club, the city, the players and the way they play football."

Fans react to Saliba latest

Marseille are reportedly interested in signing Arsenal loanee William Saliba on a permanent deal, according to Ekrem Konur.

Most fans want to see him return to Arsenal and thrive in red and white, but if Marseille do manage to make a more than suitable offer, Edu and the Gunners' hierarchy will have an important decision to make.

Nevertheless, because Saliba is performing well, Arsenal fans have naturally become more and more protective of him, hence why they're so understandably frustrated by the constant links of him moving away for good.
