Arsenal have recorded losses of £27.1million for the year ending in May 31, 2019, according to accounts published by Arsenal Group.
And the north London club are on track to lose even more money over the coming 12 months after crashing out of the Europa League in the round of 32 at the hands of Olympiakos.
Broadcast income for the Europa League was £36.6million, with prize money and gate receipts increasing this figure.
Arsenal will now suffer reduced commercial income, including from sponsors.
The Gunners must also compensate season ticket holders £4.5million for not reaching the seven cup matches they are guaranteed.
Arsenal chairman Sir Chips Keswick said: "Our player trading profit for this financial year was limited and this combined with a second consecutive season of Europa League football has meant the club recorded its first overall loss since 2002.
"For 2019/20 we will see increased commercial revenues from Adidas and our renewed deal with Emirates but another season outside the Champions League will continue to apply pressure to our financial results."
Arsenal will be looking to reduce their wage bill at the end of the season.
Gunners director Josh Kroenke summed up the problems at the club, when he described Arsenal as having a "Champions League wage bill on a Europa League budget."
According to accounts filed in December 2019, Arsenal's wage bill actually increased from £218.9million to £227.3million.
