Arsenal receive Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang boost as his dad sends message over contract talks

Arsenal appear to have a key member of the Aubameyang camp batting for them after the striker's father sent a clear message to his son on Instagram.

The Gunners are keen to tie Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang down to a new deal with his contract set to expire in the summer of 2021.

But the financial strain brought on by the coronavirus pandemic has further complicated talks which were already proving difficult, and reports this week have linked Aubameyang with a move across London to Chelsea.

Arsenal are keen to sell Aubameyang this summer if they do no reach an agreement, with Arsenal chiefs Raul Sallehi and Vinai Venkatesham minded to avoid a repeat of the situation which saw Aaron Ramsey join Juventus for free in 2019.

However, Aubaemyang's father took to Instagram on Friday and shared a message from a fan account which was calling on the 30-year-old to pen fresh terms at Emirates Stadium.

Alongside a picture of the striker signing for Arsenal back in January of 2018, @about.arsenal_ posted: "You know what you have to do bro."

Aubameyang's dad subsequently pushed out the message to his followers, prompting an excited response from Arsenal fans.
