Arsenal receive interest in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as Juventus move opens up striker deal

Welcome to our football.london The Arsenal Way daily news round-up. Maybe not the first, we've definitely done transfer round-ups before, and European round-ups, so I guess in some ways it's not that new at all.

Anyway, we thought we would enter the world of football in a broad and roundabout manner for you and have some fun with some of the stories and captions doing the daily rounds.

Vlahovic rejects Fiorentina offer

Dusan Vlahovic is a sort after target and is lighting up the pitch in Serie A to live up to the hype. The Serbian matched Cristiano Ronaldo’s record of the most Serie A goals in a calendar year since 1960, after scoring his 33rd goal against Sassuolo on Sunday evening.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano tweeted that Fiorentina CEO Barone confirmed the 21-year-old has rejected a contract offer from the Italian club: "Dusan and his agent have turned down our new contract proposal. We offered the best salary in Fiorentina history".

Our take: Vlahovic has now hinted a couple of times of his intention to leave Fiorentina and Arsenal do need a striker… but it would be easy to persuade the player who has also attracted attention from League holders Manchester City and Newcastle.

Juve eye Auba for next season

According to TuttoSport via Tribal Football Juventus have now joined the race to sign Pierre-Emmerick Aubameyang next summer. It’s looking like a hard road back into the first eleven for the Gabonese international after being dropped from the squad and stripped of his captaincy.

It’s looking likely Arsenal fans may just have seen the forward kick his last ball in an Arsenal shirt. Juve are looking for a loan move in the January transfer window for Aubameyang with an option for a permanent move in June.

The 32-year-old contract at the Emirates ends in 2023 but could exit the club before he runs out his contract in full.

Our view: It’s just inevitable isn’t it…. Farewell Auba looks to be on the agenda.

Willian makes Arsenal admission

Willian switched from West London’s Chelsea to North London’s Arsenal after a career that spanned seven years with the Blues. But, the Gunners were worse off as they received a player who had played the best of his years at Chelsea.

Speaking on Rio Ferdinand’s Five UK Youtube Channel, the Brazillian international explained why he couldn’t replicate what he did at Chelsea over at the Emirates

“What I do at Chelsea, maybe I can do at Arsenal. I wasn’t happy. That’s why I didn’t perform,” he said.

Our take: Well, this is awkward… Perhaps he was sabotaging Arsenal after all.
