Arsenal ready £77m offer for Liverpool midfield 'target' as Manchester United plot transfer hijack

Liverpool sent out a clear statement of intent to the rest of the Premier League on Sunday afternoon after sealing a deal for Dominik Szoboszlai.

The Reds have wrapped up a £60million deal for the RB Leipzig midfielder, who will join Alexis Mac Allister in the first-team midfield next campaign. Recent reports have suggested there could yet be a third arrival, with Romeo Lavia being heavily linked to become the latest player to move to Merseyside.

Elsewhere from Anfield, Arsenal have the busiest of the other top six clubs and are closing in on a lucrative £105m deal for Declan Rice. Having already recruited Kai Havertz from Chelsea, the Gunners are acting with purpose during the transfer window as they look to mount another title challenge.

Featured below is a round-up of the latest deals that could soon be done by the Reds' closest rivals as we edge closer to the return of the Premier League.

Manchester United

The Red Devils have reportedly launched a last-minute attempt to hijack Barcelona's deal for Brazilian sensation, Vitor Roque.

The 18-year-old is expected to leave Athletico Paranaense for Barcelona, with Mundo Deportivo revealing the two clubs already have a pre-agreement for the forward to join the La Liga giants. But it is added United, along with Tottenham Hotspur and Paris Saint-Germain, have phoned Roque's entourage to 'change his mind'. The player himself is said to be 'very clear' about his future and only wishes to head for Barcelona.

Chelsea

Chelsea are said to have made 'contact' with Juventus over the availability of striker, Dusan Vlahovic. The Serbian forward signed for the Italian giants last January and has scored a total of 23 goals in 63 outings.

The Londoners have already added Christopher Nkunku to their squad but are said to be looking for another striker, according to Corriere Della Sera. 'One of the ideas' at Chelsea is to 'take Vlahovic', though it remains to be seen whether or not an offer will materialise.

Manchester City

Manchester City are continuing their efforts to keep Kyle Walker as talks continue over his position at the club, it has been suggested.

The English defender has emerged as a target for Bayern Munich, and the Bundesliga champions are 'still pushing' for his services. That is according to Fabrizio Romano, who has added Bayern sources believe next week 'could be crucial' regarding reaching a final decision.

Arsenal

Understood to be 'very interested' in Aurelien Tchouameni, Arsenal are prepared to put forward €90million (£77.3m) for the French midfielder.

Tchouameni was a target for Liverpool during last summer's summer window and recent reports from Spain have indicated Jurgen Klopp may look to resurrect a move for the Frenchman. It is Arsenal who are the latest English team to be linked with submitting an offer, with Defensa Central explaining the 23-year-old has become a 'priority objective' for Mikel Arteta.

Los Blancos may well scupper this plan, however, due to taking the stance of 'not considering' a sale this transfer window.

Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur are expected to sign Barcelona defender Clement Lenglet on a permanent basis after his initial loan spell at the club expired.

Lenglet spent last campaign with the Lilywhites and featured a total of 35 times for the club over the course of his temporary stay in the capital. Addressing the possibility of the 28-year-old returning to North London, Barcelona president Joan Laporta told La Vanguardia: “I think that with Tottenham we will reach an agreement for Lenglet. This almost never goes fast. It depends on the other party.”

Newcastle United

Newcastle are exploring loan deals for Conor Gallagher and Kalvin Phillips, who are both facing uncertain futures at their respective clubs.

Gallagher could be sold by Chelsea as they look to continue raising capital through offloading members of the squad, meanwhile Phillips has seen game time extremely limited at Manchester City and struggled to make his mark during rare cameo appearances.

The Telegraph believe the Magpies are 'looking into' loans for the English duo, though could struggle to secure the services of Gallagher as Mauricio Pochettino is considering giving him 'a fresh chance to prove himself'.
