Arsenal provide injury updates on five players as Mikel Arteta gets Sokratis boost

Arsenal could welcome back Sokratis for their FA Cup clash with Bournemouth on Monday.

The Greek defender has sat out Arsenal's last two matches with illness with Shkodran Mustafi partnering David Luiz in central defende.

Luiz was sent off against Chelsea on Tuesday night and is suspended for the clash with Bournemouth but Sokratis could return.

The news is a welcome boost for boss Mikel Arteta, who is already without Calum Chambers for the remainder of the season.

Rob Holding could make a rare start for the FA Cup fourth round clash after coming off the bench in the draw at Stamford Bridge.

Arsenal must do without Reiss Nelson and Sead Kolasinac against Bournemouth but both are progressing well.

Nelson has been struggling with a hamstring problem while Kolasinac had a thigh strain but both should be back in training during the upcoming winter break.

Kieran Tierney is also making good progress after successful surgery on his shoulder.

He is now partaking in outdoor fitness sessions and Arsenal hope he will be back in full training in March.

Matteo Guendouzi and Joe Willock, who came off the bench against Chelsea, are pushing for starts, while goalkeeper Emi Martinez is expected to come in.

Youngsters Eddie Nketiah and Ainsley Maitland-Niles will also hope to be involved on Monday night.
