Arsenal predicted line up to face Chelsea - Mikel Arteta's decision as Calum Chambers returns

Mikel Arteta will lead Arsenal out at the Emirates Stadium for the first time as head coach to take on Chelsea on Saturday December 12.

The Spaniard has so far seen the Gunners secure two draws in his opening games in charge.

He was sat in the stands at Goodison Park as Freddie Ljungberg oversaw a 0-0 draw in his final game as interim boss in the dugout.

Bournemouth 1-1 Arsenal: Mikel Arteta post-match press conference

On Boxing Day, Arteta took command away at Bournemouth as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang won a point against the Cherries in a 1-1 draw.

Dan Gosling had opened the scoring in the first half at Vitality Park only for Arsenal to secure their equaliser.

Next up for the Gunners and their new head coach is a home match against Frank Lampard's Chelsea, another former Premier League midfielder who, like Arteta, has become a Premier League manager.

Hector Bellerin could return to face the Blues and is set to be assessed with only Kieran Tierney and Sead Kolasinac expected to be ruled out of playing any part in the fixture.

Bukayo Saka filled in at left-back at Everton and Bournemouth. He could do so again in the third game of the Arteta era.

After sitting out of the draw with the Cherries through suspension Calum Chambers will also be available for selection against Chelsea.

He could come straight back in to firm up the back line as the man of the match in the stalemate with Everton in which Arsenal brought home a rare clean sheet.

Victory at the Emirates would narrow the gap with the Blues to only five points, with Manchester United also set to visit north London on January 1.
