Arsenal predicted line-up for Man Utd clash as Unai Emery mulls over returning stars

Unai Emery appears set to hand Hector Bellerin and Rob Holding their first Premier League appearances of the season against Manchester United on Monday night.

Bellerin and Holding have both been sidelined since suffering knee injuries during last season.

Centre back Holding had become Emery's most trusted defender before he ruptured his cruciate ligament in his left knee at Old Trafford in December.

Then, a month later, right back Bellerin suffered an almost identical layoff when he was forced off against Chelsea .

Both made their comebacks in Arsenal's 5-0 thrashing of Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup - in which Holding started and scored, while Spaniard Holding came on as a second half substitute.

Emery said of Holding: “After eight or nine months out, it’s a long time, and to recover he needs first to take it bit by bit, to take confidence, to get back to the performance levels we demand.

“On Tuesday, I thought, ‘Wow! He’s coming, Rob Holding’. I don’t know if he is going to start at Old Trafford, but I want from him his spirit, his behaviour and commitment.

“He really feels Arsenal Football Club and I want players like him in the dressing room. Last year, Rob started training and playing with us and he progressed a lot.

“When he had his injury at Old Trafford, it was maybe at the best moment in his progress.”

Emery is likely to give summer signing Kieran Tierney his Premier League debut.

The former Celtic full-back joined for £25million in the transfer window but had to wait until Tuesday night's victory over Forest to finally make his bow following a groin injury.

Ainsley Maitland Niles' suspension is up but the wide man is unlikely to start, while Alexandre Lacazette's damaged ankle means he is still sidelined.

Arsenal predicted XI: Leno, Bellerin, Holding, Luiz, Kolasinac, Xhaka, Guendouzi, Pepe, Ceballos, Ozil, Aubameyang.
