Arsenal plot Glen Kamara move as Rangers star targeted for summer Emirates return

Glen Kamara could be set for a return to Premier League giants Arsenal - four years after the Rangers star was allowed to leave the Emirates as a youngster.

The classy midfielder’s superb form at Ibrox has reportedly swayed Gunners boss Mikel Arteta to plot a summer move for his services.

Kamara was picked up by Steven Gerrard from Dundee in January 2019 for just £50,000 but will likely move on for an exponentially larger fee should Arsenal come knocking.

The Finnish international was plucked from the youth system at Southend United by the London side as a youngster, but failed to make the grade following loan spells back at Roots Hall and Essex rivals Colchester.

However, the 25-year-old has flourished since arriving in the Scottish Premiership in 2017, carrying on his form for the Dens Park club at Ibrox by helping the Gers to their first title in a decade this season.

The Gunners have already raided Glasgow rivals Celtic for the services of full back Kieran Tierney, with the Scotland international quickly becoming a popular member of the Arsenal squad.

Give Me Sport has now suggested they will return for Kamara in the summer having freed up space in the dressing room in January with the departure of fringe players Mesut Ozil, Shkodran Mustafi and Saed Kolasinac.

Arsenal could close the gap to Everton in eighth in the Premier League should they win at Anfield on Saturday evening.

Rangers meanwhile face a Scottish Cup trip to League One Cove Rangers on Sunday.
