Arsenal players' classy reaction to Bernd Leno's mistake against Chelsea

Arsenal fell to a 2-1 defeat against Chelsea on Sunday in Mikel Arteta's first home game in charge of the Gunners.

Things started well for the new man when Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang gave his side a deserved lead in the first-half. Arsenal would take that lead into half-time, with supporters left feeling optimistic over the performance in the first 45 minutes.

It looked as if the strike was enough for the Gunners to take all three points from the game, with Chelsea struggling to create any meaningful chances going into the final seven minutes of the game.

But, a mistake by Bernd Leno led to Jorginho equalising for the visitors, before Tammy Abraham struck just four minutes later to turn the game on its head.

Mikel Arteta: We need to be stronger for longer after Chelsea defeat

Following the mistake, Leno took to social media to send a message to fans.

"Very tough day today, but I have to look forward," he wrote on his Instagram account.

The post prompted fans to respond with messages of support , but it wasn't just the fans who were on hand to back their goalkeeper, with a number of Arsenal players also responding to the post.

"Best Players have some Bad days as well," wrote Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. "We go again together," was the message from Sokratis, while Alexandre Lacazette wrote "WeAreTogetherLenox."

Leno doesn't have long to wait to atone for his error, as Arsenal are back in action on New Year's Day when they take on Manchester United at the Emirates Stadium.
