Bernd Leno: Hideously at fault for the second goal as Jarrod Bowen's easily saveable shot was allowed to slip underneath him. Couldn't do much for the other goals but a hideously poor error nonetheless. 4.
Calum Chambers: Supposedly brought into the side for his defensive ability, Calum Chambers was Arsenal's best offensive player on the day. Two assists were the reward for the England international who got forward constantly down the right and played several eye of the needle forward passes when the Gunners were chasing. 8.
David Luiz: An abysmal display from Luiz whose lack of intensity in pressing Michail Antonio in the build up to the first goal was symptomatic of Arsenal's poor start. Also beaten in the air too easily for the third. The question now has to be what has Rob Holding done wrong to find himself almost permanently out of the team behind the Brazilian? 4.
Pablo Mari: Normally so composed at the back the Spaniard looked rattled today. Shaky on the ball and not strong enough in the air it was a day to forget for Mari who surely has cemented himself as second choice to Gabriel with this display. 5.
Kieran Tierney: Didn't do enough to stop the frequency with which West Ham were getting crosses in early on in the match. Attacked with his usual aggression in the second half and made amends for his first half defensive display with a tremendous block from Bowen. 6.
Thomas Partey: The Ghanaian is clearly an excellent defensive midfielder who can pick a fantastic pass. One thing he cannot do however, is shoot from distance. 6.
Granit Xhaka: Not a terrible display by any stretch of the imagination, but the Swiss international will be disappointed with how frequently he gave the ball away when Arsenal were in comfortable possession in the West Ham half. 6.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang: Started the game bizarrely on the right and was more or less anonymous. Switched over to the left not long after and the result was the same. An awful display from the Arsenal captain who simply has to do more when he's not scoring goals. 4.
Martin Odegaard: Linked play well and popped up in spaces in front of the West Ham back four that made it difficult for them to pick him up. Impressive vision was key to unlocking Chambers on the right. Another good display from the Norweigan. 7.
Bukayo Saka: Has been scoring plenty of goals of late but there were two chances in the first half where the England international had to do better. Solid enough all round display but finishing is something he needs to improve upon. 6.
Alexandre Lacazette: While his good friend Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was lethargic and underwhelming, Lacazette's energy and intensity up front was exactly what Arsenal needed. Unlucky not to have scored a second at the beginning of the second half and dropped deep to link play brilliantly throughout. 7.

Emile Smith Rowe (for Granit Xhaka '74): Came on in a slightly deeper role and did a good job of carrying on Arsenal's forward momenutm. 6.
Nicolas Pepe (for Bukayo Saka '74): A vital cross at a crucial moment for Alex Lacazette's equaliser. The Ivorian is a good finisher and you wonder if he would have taken the chances Saka missed. 7.
Gabriel Martinelli (for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang '81): Came on too late to influence the game. n/a.
