Arsenal player ratings vs Tottenham: Emile Smith Rowe, Kieran Tierney and Martin Odegaard star in derby win

Arsenal fought back from a goal down to beat Tottenham 2-1 in Sunday’s north London derby at Emirates Stadium.

Simon Collings ran the rule over Mikel Arteta’s side...

Bernd Leno 6

Could do nothing about Erik Lamela’s brilliant goal and other than that he had very little to do.

Cedric Soares 7

A big call by Arteta to start him over Hector Bellerin, but he justified the selection. Solid going forward and in defence too.

David Luiz 8

Is Arsenal’s first-choice centre-back now and showed why once again. A calm performance and went under the radar, which isn’t always the case for him in big games.

Gabriel 7

Another good performance from the Brazilian to follow on from his excellent showing against Olympiacos on Thursday. A stunning header late on to clear the ball off the line.

Kieran Tierney 8

A great game from the left-back, who kept Gareth Bale quiet and caused plenty of problems going forward. Setup Arsenal’s opening goal.

Thomas Partey 7

Only played 50 minutes during the week as Arteta clearly wanted him ready for this. You could see why too. Partey kept things quiet in midfield.

Granit Xhaka 7

A nice solid performance from the midfielder. Just focused on the basics and kept the ball ticking over. Kept his cool too when he and Lamela looked like they may come to blows.

Bukayo Saka 6

Had a fairly decent first-half and caused some problems down the right side of Arsenal’s attack. Taken off at the break for Nicolas Pepe, though.

Martin Odegaard 8

Is getting plenty of minutes after joining on loan in January and he is relishing the chances. Scored today to follow up his first goal for Arsenal on Thursday.

Emile Smith Rowe 8 | Star man

A brilliant performance from the 20-year-old and arguably his best game for the club so far. Linked up so well with Tierney down the left side.

Alexandre Lacazette 7

Struggled in the first-half and missed a good chance, but he bounced back and improved. Perfectly placed penalty to put Arsenal ahead.

Substitutions

Nicolas Pepe (Saka 45’) 7

On at half-time and made a great impact. Played through Lacazette for the penalty and looked a real threat.

Willian (Smith Rowe 77’) N/A

Mohamed Elneny (Lacazette 88’) N/A
