Arsenal player ratings vs Leicester: Ramsdale heroics, Gabriel a rock, Smith Rowe pushing for England call

Arsenal stretched their unbeaten run to nine games with an impressive victory at Leicester City.

Simon Collings was at the King Power Stadium to see the action...

Aaron Ramsdale 9 | Star man

Arsenal’s best player. Made a number of brilliant saves, namely his effort to keep out James Maddison’s free-kick just before half-time. Distribution was excellent too.

Takehiro Tomiyasu 8

Made a number of vital blocks and interceptions during a good performance. Has settled really well at Arsenal and looks the part.

Ben White 7

Marginally worse than his centre-back partner, but not by much. Looked so calm on the ball throughout and carried it well too.

Gabriel 8

Got on the scoresheet from a corner and was a rock in defence too. Forming a good partnership with White and is getting better on the ball too.

Nuno Tavares 8

Excellent again from the youngster, who is filling in for the injured Kieran Tierney with aplomb. Looks so dangerous when he bombs forward.

Albert Sambi Lokonga 7

Another good performance from the midfielder, who has bounced back from his tough game at Brighton at the start of this month.

Thomas Partey 8

Looks so much better playing in a midfield-two than on his own. Broke up play well and his passing was decent too.

Bukayo Saka 7

Setup the first goal and looked very lively early on. Faded a bit in the second-half and wasted some good openings.

Alexandre Lacazette 6

Did a solid job playing just off Aubameyang. Pressed well and had a hand in the second goal. Taken off just before the hour mark.

Emile Smith Rowe 8

Another great performance from the youngster, who is surely close to Gareth Southgate’s England squad. Scored again to make it four goals in seven games.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang 7

Looks better and more like himself with each game he plays. Led the line well and was denied a certain goal by a stunning Kasper Schmeichel save.

Substitutions

Martin Odegaard (Lacazette 58’) 6

Came on and showed the odd flash of brilliance. Faces a fight to get back into the team.

Nicolas Pepe (Saka 84’) N/A

Sead Kolasinac (Smith Rowe 89’) N/A
