Standard Sport’s Simon Collings was at the Emirates Stadium to rate the Arsenal players...
David Raya 6
Bayern managed just two shots on target, one of which was their goal. Distribution was decent.
Jurrien Timber 8
Opened the scoring by flicking home Bukayo Saka’s corner. Defensively excellent, too. Very little came down his side.
William Saliba 7
A steady display from the Frenchman, who is having to step up and lead in the absence of Gabriel.
Cristhian Mosquera 7
Came into the team in place of Piero Hincapie and put in a solid performance. Kept Harry Kane quiet.
Myles Lewis-Skelly 5
A tough evening for the teenager up against Michael Olise. Caught out by a ball over the top for Bayern’s goal.
Eberechi Eze 7
Almost played as a No9 at times, with Mikel Merino dropping deep. Went close to scoring in the first half, but created Martinelli’s goal with a deft pass.
Martin Zubimendi 8
Snapped into tackles all night at the base of midfield. Helped Arsenal wrestle back control during the second half.
Declan Rice 9 | Star player
Rose to the occasion, as he so often does for a big game. Won the ball for the move that resulted in Madueke’s goal. A monster performance.
Bukayo Saka 7
Created the opening goal of the game with a corner that Timber headed home and his set-piece delivery was on point all night.
Mikel Merino 6
Dropped very deep and linked the play well, including one lovely move in the first half with Eze. Missed a great chance to score from a corner.
Leandro Trossard 6
Forced off before half-time with an injury. A blow for Arsenal given he has been in great form lately.
