Arsenal player ratings vs Barnet: Folarin Balogun shows his worth to Unai Emery with hat-trick

James Hillson

Made a couple of saves and dealt with a few crosses but otherwise untroubled in the Arsenal net. Deserves credit nonetheless for his clean sheet. 6

Tolaji Bola

Was caught napping a few times at left back and didn’t always have the measure of Barnet winger Antonis Vasiliou. 5

Harry Clarke

Captained the side in defence and led by example. Clarke looks capable on the ball and is very solid in the air. 8

Joseph Olowu

Looked assured alongside Clarke in the first half but will kick himself for giving away a penalty after the break. Certainly has the build of an imposing centre back. 6

Zak Swanson

Had a relatively quiet game at right back but never looked too phased. 6

Jordan McEneff

The Irish youth international kept things ticking over. 6

Arsenal's impressive stars vs Real Madrid

Matt Smith

Sitting in front of the back four, Smith is competent on the ball and can drive play forward. Not quite as effective as he was against Boreham Wood but showed promise. 7

Trae Coyle

Won the penalty for the first goal and set up the second. A lively performance on the left wing. 8

Folarin Balogun

Brilliant performance form the striker. After scoring Arsenal’s first, it took Balogun just six minutes to complete his hat-trick. All of a sudden, the Gunners have a plethora of exciting young attackers at their disposal. 9

Ben Cottrell

The diminutive number 10 played some neat passes and has a touch of a young Jack Wilshere about him. 7

Ryan Alebiosu

Didn’t do too much of note in the first half. Has a decent turn of pace. 6

Substitutes:

Tom Smith

Could do little about the penalty he let in  but might’ve done better for Barnet’s second. 5

Mazeed Ogungbo

Was a bit slow to get going after coming on at half time. 5

Miguel Azeez

Led a few counter attacks and was a lively presence. Hit the post late on. 7

Levi Laing

Filled in next to Clarke at centre back. 6

Matthew Dennis

Put in a couple of good challenges after coming on at right back. 6

Alfie Matthews

Was involved in some decent interplay down the right flank. 6

Stan Flaherty

Didn’t get enough minutes to have any real impact. 5
