Arsenal player ratings: McCabe superb, Carter suffers injury scare in 1-0 loss vs Bayern Munich

Manuela Zinsberger - The goalkeeper’s first game for Arsenal, having signed from Bayern this summer.

Much like Munich’s number one Manuel Neuer, Zinsberger like the ball at her feet and is not afraid to come out of her box. Also made some good saves. 7

Leonie Maier - Playing at right back against her former club, she showed signs of creativity going forward.

Unfortunately she gave away the free-kick that led to Bayern’s opener in the first half. 6

Louise Quinn - Generally solid and also a threat from set pieces herself, Quinn will be disappointed that her side switched off to allow Bayern to score from a freekick of their own. 6

Jennifer Beattie - Having rejoined Arsenal this summer after a four-year spell at Manchester City, Beattie looked pleased to be back. Like Quinn, she is strong in the air. 6

Katrine Veje - An adventurous full-back as well as an aerial presence. Veje will be looking to build on last season having only joined in January. 6

Viktoria Schnaderbeck - Didn’t have too much bearing on the game from midfield this afternoon. 5

Kim Little - Arsenal’s captain did well in the middle of the park and kept things ticking over. 6

Katie McCabe - Fresh from a summer of rest after Arsenal’s title winning season, the Ireland skipper was the Gunner’s most dangerous player. Brought an energy that her side sadly couldn’t capitalise on. 8

Lisa Evans - Made some nice runs down the right. Evans also used to play for Bayern and signed for Arsenal in 2017. 6

Tabea Kemme - Only played the first half and had a couple of chances up front. Pulled off a delightful bit of skill that got the Emirates crowd going. 6

Danielle Carter - Involved in most of Arsenal’s better attacking moves. The striker was stretchered off in the second half after a nasty tangling of legs and hopefully it’s nothing serious.

She suffered an ACL injury in 2018 that kept her out for 10 months. 7

Subs

Janni Arnth - Hard to assess from her limited minutes in the second half. 5

Emma Mitchell - Put in a good shift at the back, coming on for Kemme at half time. 6

Premier League 2019/20 opening fixtures

Melisa Filis - The 16-year-old striker came on late during the second half and had a decent chance to equalise. 6

Silvana Flores - Her first appearance in an Arsenal and certainly one she can build on. 5
