Whilst a youthful Arsenal team was taking part in a thrilling pre-season friendly against Boreham Wood, a number of first-teamers were back at London Colney for training.
The Gunners have an hectic pre-season schedule planned and it all begins a week on Tuesday when they face Colorado Rapids at the Dick's Sporting Goods Park.
That gives the likes of Xavier Amaechi, Tyreece John-Jules and Sam Greenwood enough time to convince Unai Emery that they should be included in the travelling squad to the United States.
One Arsenal youngster who looks set to be on that tour is Bukayo Saka as he was one of three wonderkids in pre-season training on Saturday alongside Emile Smith Rowe who is back following his loan spell with RB Leipzig.
Forgotten midfielder Kelechi Nwakali also took part in the session, sporting the no.98 training top.
There was also a first glimpse of summer signing Gabriel Martinelli as he was put through his paces just days after completing his €6m transfer from Brazilian side Ituano.
Despite transfer speculation, Mesut Ozil, Shkodran Mustafi, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Carl Jenkinson and Alexandre Lacazette were also present at London Colney.
As was Calum Chambers following a decent loan with Fulham last season.
But how long for remains to be seen as football.london understands the Gunners are expected to entertain offers for him as he is among the relatively few players in Emery's squad whose sale would significantly improve their transfer budget.

All in all there were plenty of smiles from the returning Arsenal players as they step up preparations for the 2019/2020 season which includes another year of Europa League football.
Will there be a couple of new faces added to the group in the next week?
