Arsenal picture special: Mesut Ozil and Hector Bellerin are joined by youngsters in training

The preparations for the return of the Premier League are well underway at London Colony.

Despite some players still being away on international duty, Unai Emery and his men are already working hard ahead of the visit of Southampton on Saturday.

Arsenal will be aiming to bounce back from a 2-0 defeat against Leicester City in their last league outing, where second half goals from Jamie Vardy and James Maddison meant that the Gunners left the midlands with nothing to show for the journey.

Emery spoke of how he hopes to turn the season around after the game.

"First is to feel strong at home at the Emirates," he said. "This is the first thing I want to achieve because if we can feel strong at home, take confidence and points with good performances, when we play away I know we will achieve good performances against every team.

"The next match is a challenge now at home because we didn't lose at home but we drew some matches and lost points to be better in the table. Today, we lost here because they (Leicester) are in a good moment playing at home and they feel strong here.

"But with our gameplan, we worked as we prepared but the difference was they scored the first goal and we lost that opportunity."

The next opportunity will come against the Saints, and with not the full contingent yet back from international duty, it has given some young players the chance to train with the senior players.

Zak Swanson, Nathan Tormey and James Olayinka are just three of the players who joined first team players including Kieran Tierney, Mesut Ozil and Rob Holding in training.
