Arsenal picture special: Hector Bellerin and Kieran Tierney return from injury in U23's clash

Hector Bellerin has made his first Arsenal appearance in eight months.

And the good news doesn't stop there with Kieran Tierney getting his first outing as a Gunners player following his £25m summer transfer from Celtic.

Both players returned from injury in the Under-23's 2-2 draw against their Wolverhampton Wanderers counterparts on Friday evening, each getting a much needed 6-2 minutes in the tank.

As expected neither will feature in the first-team's Premier League clash against Aston Villa at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon, but they should soon be available to head coach Unai Emery.

Bellerin, sidelined since suffering a serious knee injury against Chelsea all the way back in January took to social media after the game to react to his comeback.

"255 days and the day has finally come for me to get back out there," he tweeted. "Can't describe how much I've missed this!"

He also had a message for the Arsenal fans.

"Hey everyone, well after eight long months, I'm finally in the red and white; finally on the pitch," Bellerin said.

"It's been a tough period, but we're back: we're back better than ever and yeah - can't wait to be at the Emirates. See ya!"

Meanwhile, Tierney reflected on his first appearance in an Arsenal shirt.

"Class to be back!" he posted on Instagram.

"Congrats on your comeback Hector Bellerin and thanks for helping me settle in!"

The Arsenal cameras were at New Bucks Head Stadium to capture the sights which all Gunners supporters will have loved as the club's first-choice full-backs - when fit - stepped up their recoveries.
