Arsenal picture special: Guendouzi, Nelson, Cedric and Aubameyang train ahead of Olympiacos trip

Final preparations for Arsenal's Europa League round of 32 first-leg tie against Olympiacos are complete.

It's the competition which could provide the best route for the north London outfit to seal a return to the Champions League next season as they currently sit 10th in the Premier League table.

And head coach Mikel Arteta has promised to send out a strong team in Athens on what will be his bow in the competition, having been appointed after the Gunners had booked their place in the knockout stages.

Olympiacos v Arsenal: Mikel Arteta pre match press conference

"We had a break of 15 days. We played just one game so tomorrow I’m going to send out a team that I think is the best to play," Arteta said in his pre-match press conference.

"The rest of the games will take care of itself. We cannot control everything.

"Sometimes you think about resting somebody and in training he gets a little issue or he gets sick.

"So tomorrow we will send out a team that we think is the best to beat Olympiakos and the rest of the teams after that will take care of themselves."

Mesut Ozil took part in Wednesday's training session, but hasn't travelled to Athens as his wife is due to give birth.

Meanwhile, Lucas Torreira could still make the trip to Greece after being left in London because of illness. But there are no fresh injury concerns for the Gunners following last weekend's 4-0 win over Newcastle United.

This means the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette, Nicolas Pepe, Dani Ceballos, Gabriel Martinelli, Granit Xhaka, Bukayo Saka, Sead Kolasinac, Reiss Nelson and David Luiz all took part in he session.

As did defenders Kieran Tierney and Cedric Soares as they continue their rehabilitation from shoulder and knee injuries respectively.

There was also a Matteo Guendouzi sighting as he trained for the first time since being dropped for the win over the Magpies.

Meanwhile several of the club's youngsters such as Zech Medley, Matthew Smith, Harry Clarke, Trae Coyle and Folarin Balogun were also put through their paces at the club's training base at London Colney.
