Arsenal picture special: Emery leads double training session with Ozil, Lacazette and Nelson

The hard work continues for the Arsenal squad out in the United States.

It's less than a month until the new Premier League campaign starts and Unai Emery's 29-man squad have been stepping up their pre-season preparations with a double training session at the Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California.

Their first match of this USA tour is in the early hours of Tuesday morning (UK time) as they face Colorado Rapids at the
DICK's Sporting Goods Park.

Friendlies against Bayern Munich, Fiorentina and Real Madrid have also been lined up before the Gunners head back to the UK ahead of the Emirates Cup which takes place over the final weekend of July.

Emery will use the next fortnight to run the rule over the squad as many look to stake a claim to be in the starting XI against Newcastle United at St James' Park on August 11.

One player who is unlikely to feature is club captain Laurent Koscielny who refused to travel to the US and there's talk of him returning to France before the summer window shuts.

But there are several players on tour who have returned following loan spells last season.

Reiss Nelson, Calum Chambers, Emiliano Martinez, Matt Macey and Emile Smith Rowe will all be hoping to feature regularly next season.

Youngsters Eddie Nketiah, Joe Willock, Zech Medley, James Olayinka, Robbie Burton, Tyreece John-Jules and Bukayo Saka were present as was the likes of Alexandre Lacazette, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Mesut Ozil and Shkodran Mustafi.
