Arsenal picture special: Bellerin, Aubameyang, Ozil and Saka train ahead of Frankfurt clash

Arsenal return to action on Thursday as they face Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League.

Drawn in the same group as last season's semi-finalists as well as Standard Liege and Vitoria, the game at the Commerzbank-Arena looks to be the Gunners' toughest test - well at least on paper.

However, Unai Emery's side - who reached the final of the competition last year - go into the game on the back of a disappointing 2-2 draw against Watford at the weekend and have kept just the one clean sheet this season.

With Alexandre Lacazette out injured and Eddie Nketiah out on loan at Leeds United, Emery only has one senior striker fit and available to him ahead of the game against the Bundesliga side.

But with Aston Villa to come at home in the Premier League on Sunday, will Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang be risked?

Thursday could also see the return of Rob Holding from injury as he bids to make his first senior competitive appearance since December 2018.

The Gunners were put through their paces at London Colney on Wednesday afternoon ahead of the 5.55pm kick-off on Thursday.

Youngsters Reiss Nelson and Joe Willock were present as were the likes of Gabriel Martinelli, Emile Smith Rowe, Bukayo Saka, David Luiz, Hector Bellerin, Kieran Tierney, Matteo Guendouzi, Calum Chambers, Mesut Ozil, Sokratis, Granit Xhaka and Nicolas Pepe.

Watford 2-2 Arsenal: Unai Emery post-match press conference

Speaking to the media ahead of the game, Frankfurt boss Adi Hutter revealed that he expects to be without key midfielder Sebastien Rode for the clash against the Gunners because of a knee injury.

"Sadly it's unlikely that Sebastien Rode will feature," Hutter said at his pre-match press conference. "He's got a bruised knee.

"Filip Kostic is doing well and there's a good chance he'll be back in the starting XI."
