Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke handed £2.9bn boost as major LA Rams decision pays off in Super Bowl

It goes without saying that Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke has his attentions divided at the current time.

The American businessman - who is the controlling stakeholder of the Gunners - also owns NFL franchise LA Rams and has poured plenty of money into the club.

He has moved the side from St Louis, whilst also building a state-of-the-art new stadium at a considerable cost of £4bn.

That huge investment has finally paid dividends though with the LA Rams having claimed the Super Bowl title against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday night - the second time they have been named champions in their history.

Meanwhile, it also appears that the investment could also be set to scoop Kroenke and his family a pretty penny should they elect to sell the club at some point in the future.

According to The Independent, the LA Rams are now the third-most valuable franchise in the entirety of the NFL - the Dallas Cowboys and the New England Patriots thought to be the only sides valued at more than their £3.45bn evaluation.

This is a huge increase on the reported £553m that Kroenke originally paid to acquire the club.

Following the Rams’ success, Kroenke hailed players and fans, whilst also justifying his own decision in moving the side to Los Angeles and build their new stadium.

The American said: He said: “Amazing, and just really proud of this group. So happy for them, and then you talk about these players.

“They’re unbelievable, and this just hung in there. It was a tough game and I’m just so proud of them executing like they did.

“As far as building this stadium goes, I think it turned out alright.

“Thanks to the great fans of Los Angeles, your first Super Bowl trophy in Rams house.”
