Arsenal 'open to offers' for Joe Willock, according to new report

Joe Willock is one of ten players that Arsenal are open to offers for, according to national reports.

The Newcastle midfielder has been superb as a loan signing at St James' Park, scoring crucial late goals against West Ham, Liverpool and Spurs - as well as opening the scoring in Friday's excellent away win at Leicester.

His future remains uncertain with Mikel Arteta talking in glowing terms about the England under-21 man, but the Guardian claims the Gunners are open to selling him to raise funds for a summer rebuild at the Emirates.

A fee of £20million has been cited for Willock - which would represent good value for a player with plenty of potential and room to learn.

Earlier this week Steve Bruce admitted he was one of his top transfer targets for the summer.

"All of us would love to (make it permanent),” Bruce said.

“He’s 21, a midfield player and he’s got five goals since the turn of the year, so of course we want him – but we have to respect that he’s Arsenal’s player.

“I’m sure Arsenal will have big discussions this summer, but if there’s a possibility that we can bring him back we’d love to do it

Further reports on Tuesday claimed Bruce was waiting to hear how much he would have to invest in the squad this summer before definitively committing to the club.

Willock is not the only Newcastle target - past or present - on Arsenal's list. Granit Xhaka, who was coveted by Bruce 12 months ago, is also set to leave in the close season.
