Arsenal have reportedly opened talks over the signing of Eintracht Frankfurt striker Andre Silva amid uncertain futures for the Gunners’ current striking options.
According to The Transfer Window Podcast, Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal have registered an interest in the Portugal international and have already opened talks over a potential deal.
The striker, who scored 29 goals in all competitions last season, has just two years left to run on his contract with his current employers and could potentially be on the move sooner rather than later.
It is reported that Frankfurt have put a £34m asking price on their star forward.
He only moved to Germany on a permanent basis last summer after initially impressing on-loan with the Bundesliga outfit.
Silva has continually improved since having found the net on 45 occasions for Frankfurt in just 71 outings.
The former Porto man has already admitted that a move is not on his mind right now.
He said: "Nobody knows what will happen in the future. I live in the present and it feels very good right now."
Despite that, Silva would certainly be a wonderful addition to the Arsenal attack.
The Gunners endured a frustrating season in front of goal throughout 2020/21, netting just 55 on their way to an eighth-place finish in the Premier League - the lowest in a single league season since 1996.
Meanwhile, their current options - the likes of Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang - face uncertain futures at the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal are reportedly open to selling the Frenchman this summer whilst Aubameyang has been linked with Premier League rivals Chelsea in the past by The Telegraph.
