Arsenal news: Zaha gets Gunners fans excited, Wenger's big announcement, Emery's key decisions

The countdown is on for the return of Premier League football for Arsenal, with the international break almost over.

Several Arsenal stars are still away with their countries, but players will be returning to London Colney this week as the Gunners build up towards their next fixture against Sheffield United on Monday.

Unai Emery's men will make the trip to Yorkshire to take on the Blades at Bramall Lane on Monday night football next week, in the final game of the weekend as the Premier League returns.

And ahead of that game, we take a look at the latest news surrounding the Gunners, below.

Wilfried Zaha's message

The future of Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha continues to be the subject of speculation, after a move to Arsenal failed to materialise in the summer.

The Ivory Coast forward was heavily linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium, but the Gunners had a bid turned down by Palace, before Arsenal signed his international team-mate Nicolas Pepe in a club record deal.

But the pair got Arsenal fans talking on Sunday when they linked up for a goal for Ivory Coast, with Pepe scoring from close range after being set up by Zaha.

And Zaha has set tongues wagging among some Arsenal supporters after sending a message to Pepe on social media.

Responding to his team-mate with footage of the goal, Zaha said: "You're welcome Nico."

Unsurprisingly, his message has sparked a reaction from Arsenal fans again, with many making the same plea to the Crystal Palace ace.

Here's what some Arsenal fans have been saying.

Arsene Wenger's big announcement

It has been confirmed that former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will release his first ever autobiography next year.

The Bookseller made the announcement regarding the legendary Arsenal manager on Monday morning and the Frenchman is expected to discuss the 'Invincibles' as well as the challenges he faced following the club's move from Highbury to the Emirates Stadium.

Wenger has signed with Weidenfeld and Nicolson for his first ever autobiography, and W&N chairman, publisher and Gunners fan, Alan Samson, said: "Arsène Wenger is the man who changed the entire face of football in this country.

"He is a revolutionary manager whose influence, not only at Arsenal for an amazing 22 years but also on the national game, has been profound.

"He altered the habits of players yet far more significantly he opened our eyes and broadened our minds.

"For more than two decades he brought to the Premier League as much vivid colour and excitement as anyone could, exemplified by the silk and steel of his immortal ‘Invincibles’."

And the news has got some Arsenal fans excited about what might be said in the book.

Unai Emery's key issues to fix

With just six days left until Arsenal are back in action at Bramall Lane, Unai Emery has several things on his to-do list for the week ahead.

From trying to get the best out of the attacking options at his disposal to trying to fix a defence that has conceded 11 goals in eight Premier League games so far this season, there are issues still to fix.

In addition, Emery has some big decisions to make when it comes to his team selection for the game against the Blades on Monday night, with several youngsters impressing in recent weeks.

Hector Bellerin and Kieran Tierney are also pushing to be involved, after recovering from long-term injuries, while Alexandre Lacazette is nearing a return to fitness after an ankle injury.

But Emery will have to weigh up the risk as to whether Monday's game will come too soon for the Frenchman, with Arsenal set to enter another busy period between international breaks.

This is just one thing on the agenda for the Spaniard though, as we take a look at the other pressing matters for the Gunners boss and the key decisions for him over the coming days.
