Arsenal news: Youri Tielemans stance revealed following Fabio Vieira transfer agreement

Here is your Arsenal morning digest for Friday, June 17.

Vieira move

Arsenal are closing in on a deal to sign Porto playmaker Fabio Vieira, football.london understands.

The north Londoners have been tracking the Portugal under-21 international for some time and have now agreed on a €40 million (£34 million) deal to bring him to the Emirates Stadium. This is lower than the player's release clause which is thought to be at around £42 million as the Gunners seek to take advantage of Porto's ongoing financial problems.

The 22-year-old has been heavily linked with Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur but it is Arsenal who look set to secure a deal to bring him to Mikel Arteta's side this summer. Vieira scored seven times last term, providing an impressive 16 assists - showing he has plenty of talent help compete with the likes of Martin Odegaard and Emile Smith Rowe.

Tielemans latest

Arsenal will still try and sign Leicester midfielder Youri Tielemans despite agreeing a deal to sign the aforementioned Vieira, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano. Speaking on his YouTube Channel, he said: "They (Arsenal) are still working on Youri Tielemans as top priority for the midfield."

football.london has previously reported that the north Londoners are indeed keen to sign the Belgian international, who has just one one year left on his contract at the King Power Stadium.

Ruiz interest

According to Italian Journalist Paolo Bargiggia, Napoli are willing to listen to offers for reported Arsenal target Fabian Ruiz. Speaking about the Spaniard, Bargiggia said via Sport Bible: “The club (Napoli) is, in fact, having a tough approach on Fabián.

"The player wants to leave the team, so Napoli will listen to important offers, or he’ll be relegated to the bench, as he’ll be excluded from the club’s project. I bring back the interest from Arsenal and Juventus, even if the ‘Bianconeri’ cannot make proposals worth €30-40 million.”
