Arsenal news: Youri Tielemans demand as Jose Mourinho makes Tammy Abraham transfer claim

There's no escaping the significance of Thursday's north London derby for Arsenal.

The Gunners head to Tottenham Hotspur with a four-point lead over their biggest rivals in the race to secure fourth in the Premier League and knowing that a victory on the road would be enough for them to guarantee a Champions League spot next term.

For manager Mikel Arteta, it is arguably the most significant league game of his tenure and while three points would be marvellous for the team, a draw would keep matters in their own hands heading into the final two fixtures.

Mirror Sport has all the latest build up to the match, as Arsenal look to move back to European football's elite club competition for the first time in five years.

Should Arsenal play to win or play for a point at Spurs on Thursday? Let us know in the comments section below!

Tielemans' Champions League demand

Reported Arsenal transfer target Youri Tielemans wants to play Champions League football next season, with a summer switch from Leicester City looking increasingly on the cards.

The talented Belgium international has not signed an extension at the King Power Stadium, meaning he will have just one year left to run on his contract by the end of the season. As a result, the Foxes may lose him for a knockdown fee in the upcoming window.

Manchester United were said to be interested in Tielemans, although their recent issues look to have left them trailing in the race. Arsenal and Tottenham are both vying for a Champions League spot in the final weeks of the season and both have been strongly linked with the Leicester star.

Arsenal have struggled for depth in the central midfield positions this season, making Tielemans a potentially ideal acquisition.

Mourinho makes Abraham admission

Roma manager Jose Mourinho has said he would not stand in Tammy Abraham's way if the club was the receive a big offer for him from a Premier League side.

Arsenal are one of a number of clubs to have been linked with the England international, who has kicked on in the Eternal City after signing from Chelsea last summer. Roma have reportedly put a £67.5 million valuation on Abraham and Mourinho admitted the path is there for him to head back to the Premier League. However, the Portuguese said he doesn't think the forward is ready to return yet.

"He made that option and I think he made it by trust in me, and I think in this moment, if he wants to go back to England – I don’t think he wants now – but if he wants to go back to England he just needs to click his fingers."

Sevilla want Pepe

Nicolas Pepe is reportedly a target for Sevilla in the summer.

Pepe is the Gunners' record signing at £72 million and arrived in the summer of 2019 from Lille to much fanfare after shining in Ligue 1. However, the winger has struggled for consistency and regular football, with Bukayo Saka emerging as Arsenal's best option on the right flank.

The 26-year-old feels a long way from the starting XI as such and with two years remaining on his contract come the end of the season, it would not be a huge shock to see him moved on.

Sevilla are said to have already reached out to Arsenal to find out about the Ivory Coast international's availability, although they are reportedly ready to play hardball when it comes to a fee for the forward.
