Arsenal news: Yannick Bolasie slams Edu transfer deal as Paul Merson urges shock Chelsea move

Here is your Arsenal morning digest for Monday, June 13.

Bolasie criticism

Former Crystal Palace winger Yannick Bolasie has criticised Arsenal for the price they are getting for midfielder Matteo Guendouzi. Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano took to social media to deliver an update on Guendouzi, tweeting: "Arsenal will receive around €10/11m (£8.5m/£9.4m) for Mattéo Guendouzi from OM, the deal is already sealed after clauses have been met.

"Lucas Torreira’s future is yet to be decided, still no agreement with Fiorentina. His contract expires in June 2023"

However, Bolsie was clearly unimpressed by the money Gunners technical director Edu negotiated for the Frenchman, replying: "This guys a player, you can see the ability every time he plays and don’t let people let you believe when he first played that season he wasn’t very good….how they’ve let him go for that I’ll never understand", accompanied by a laughing emoji.

Saliba claim

Matteo Guendouzi has claimed that Arsenal starlet William Saliba wants to return to Marseille next season. Speaking to Telefoot about his international teammate's situation, Guendouzi said: “William has Marseille now in his heart, and I’m sure he will return to Marseille next season.

"So I will try to push him again to stay with us.” The Frenchman's comments come just one week after Saliba claimed he would be returning to the north London club in the coming weeks, saying he will join Mikel Arteta's side for pre-season. "I belong to Arsenal, I still have two years left there", he told Telefoot.

"I will be there for pre-season."

Lukaku advice

Paul Merson has told Arsenal to try and pull off a shock swoop for Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku. Writing in The Daily Star, Merson said: “Arsenal should make a cheeky £60m bid for Romelu Lukaku this summer.

"Because if Chelsea are so desperate to let him go that they’re talking about loaning him to Inter Milan, surely they would take the money! Arsenal haven’t had someone who is big and strong and dynamic like that since Kevin Campbell.

"I know he hasn’t scored a lot of goals this season but Lukaku is an elite goalscorer. Arsenal play great football up to the edge of the box but then it often fizzles out.

"Arsenal go through the lines. They want their striker on the edge of the box. It would suit him. They could roll it into him and he doesn’t have to get involved in the build-up too much."
