Arsenal news: William Saliba transfer boost, £15m Mario Lemina move, Edu's role explained

Arsenal re in the hunt for more summer signings.

And now they have someone in place who can help them to tie up some deals.

After Sven Mislintat left the club, the Gunners have been in the market for a new technical director.

And now they have one.

That's where we start with our round-up of all the big news surround Arsenal Football Club in the last 24 hours.

Edu on board

Arsenal finally have a technical director in place.

Sven Mislintat left the club towards the end of last season and Gunners fans have been waiting patiently to find out who is going to replace him.

But they need wonder no more after it was confirmed that former Gunner, and Invincible Edu Gaspar had left his role with the Brazil national team to become technical director at the Emirates.

We decided to take a look at exactly what his role will entail.

Saliba boost

It looks as though William Saliba will become Arsenal's second summer signing.

However, the teenage defender is likely to go back to Saint Etienne on loan for the season.

Arsenal will have to pay £25million for the wonderkid, which would be a huge chunk of their transfer budget on a player that they will not be able to count on in the 2019/20 campaign.

Lemina move

There's another player who has been talked up as a potential Arsenal signing in the last 24 hours - Mario Lemina.

According to reports, Arsenal and Manchester United have both shown an interest in the Southampton midfielder.

Saints boss Ralph Hasenhuttl left the 25-year-old out of the travelling party for the Saint's pre-season tour of Austria, leading to questions over his future on th south coast.
