Arsenal news: William Saliba to feature for France as Youri Tielemans hints at transfer decision

Your Arsenal morning digest on Thursday, November 24.

William Saliba set to feature for France in friendly

William Saliba's wait for his World Cup debut goes on after he failed to feature for France in Les Bleus' 4-1 win against Australia last night.

Saliba has been one of the best defenders in the Premier League this season after returning from a successful loan spell with Marseille last term. The 21-year-old was tipped to be a key player for France at the World Cup after Manchester United star Raphael Varane suffered an injury ahead of the tournament in Qatar.

Players who did not feature for Les Bleus in the win last night look set to feature in a friendly against Qatari 1st division side Al Gharafa on Wednesday evening as Deschamps aims to maintain match fitness for his squad.

Youri Tielemans hints at transfer decision during World Cup

Arsenal transfer target Youri Tielemans has provided a fresh transfer hint as he prepares for Belgium's World Cup opener against Canada.

The Gunners are keen to sign a new central midfielder and have admired Tielemans for a long time, football.london understands. As reported by football.london in the summer, Arsenal have already agreed personal terms with the 25-year-old but are willing to wait until next summer to sign Tielemans on a free transfer when his contract expires.

As quoted in the Belgian daily newspaper Le Soir, translated from French, Tielemans said: "My future at the club doesn’t change anything. I don’t think about that right now. I just try to be the best footballer possible here and help the national team as much as possible."
