Arsenal news: William Saliba's agent delivers hint, Emery handed new transfer window problem

Arsenal have lots of work to do.

Unai Emery has a number of transfer targets this summer, and he will be hoping to make a move, having only brought in 18-year-old Gabriel Martinelli so far.

Links with William Saliba and Kieran Tierney remain strong, but a departure from the Emirates could force Emery to change his plans.

Here we take a look at the biggest stories from around the Emirates Stadium in the past 24 hours.

New transfer priority

Unai Emery has a number of problems to solve this summer.

And he could just have another issue on his hands.

The Arsenal head coach is in the market for defensive reinforcements, while a new winger is also high on his wishlist.

But he could be forced to rethink his plans after there was a departure from the Emirates on Saturday.

Here's who has left the club and what it means for Emery's transfer business.

William Saliba update

A battle in north London is brewing over the signing of William Saliba.

The young French defender had looked certain to seal a £27million transfer to Arsenal in a deal which would have seen him loaned back to Saint-Etienne for the 2019/2020 campaign.

But Spurs have made a late move to sign him and losing him to their bitter rivals, despite not being able to utilise him this season, would be a bitter pill to swallow.

And Saliba's agent issued a cryptic social media update following the news that Spurs were making a movee for his client.

Read all about that here.

Ruben Dias price tag

Arsenal will have to stump up some cash if they are serious about signing Benfica defender Ruben Dias this summer.

According to the Daily Mail, the Gunners are keeping tabs on the 22-year-old who has attracted interest from clubs across Europe including Manchester United.

The north London outfit were reportedly interested in the Portugal international at the beginning of the summer, but their need for defensive reinforcements has increased following events this week.

Here's how much he will cost.

Kieran Tierney latest

Arsenal remain interested in Kieran Tierney.

But they have yet to meet Celtic's asking price for the full-back.

And there are question marks over the Scotland international's fitness at the moment.

The Scotland international didn't feature in the Champions League first qualifying round first-leg win over Sarajevo in midweek and won't feature in this afternoon's pre-season friendly against Ligue 1 outfit Rennes.

Luckily for the Hoops they've already brought in cover for Tierney in the form of Boli Bolingoli and Lennon has revealed a timeframe as to when the former could be back in action.

Here's what Lennon has had to say.
