Arsenal news: Unai Emery's transfer verdict, Mikel Arteta's Arsenal claim, major injury boost

In three days time Arsenal will be back in Premier League action.

The Gunners face Watford away from home and head coach Unai Emery does have some injury concerns over midfield duo Granit Xhaka and Lucas Torreira.

Arteta makes shock claim about Arsenal job

Mikel Arteta has hinted that he may have withdrawn from the race to be Arsene Wenger’s successor when the Frenchman left Arsenal in 2018.

Former Arsenal club captain Arteta, now Pep Guardiola’s assistant manager at Manchester City, was among the frontrunners for the job at the Emirates Stadium after the Frenchman brought his two decade tenure to a close in May of last year but the Gunners would ultimately choose Unai Emery.

The 'Super League' proposal which could affect Arsenal

The Premier League's 20 clubs will discuss the prospect of a European 'Super League' being introduced in 2024 when they meet this week.

Shareholders are set to sit down this week in Geneva at the European Club Association (ECA) and discuss a range of issues for the first time this season, with the proposals to significantly change the European calendar one of the key topics on the agenda.

England's top clubs including Manchester City and  Liverpool  are two of many to speak out against the proposed format change, whilst the changes would also have a huge impact on Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham.

Arsenal handed major boost for Watford clash 

Unai Emery and Arsenal have been handed a huge injury boost ahead of the weekend trip to Watford.

The Gunners travel to Vicarage Road to take on a Watford side with a new manager at the helm, but they could do so with a player who has been missing since December.
