Arsenal news: UEFA plea, what to do with Mesut Ozil, starting lineup for Spurs, Sanchez lesson

Arsenal's full focus is on the North London Derby this weekend.

But there are a number of other things, unrelated to the match, that have made the news.

There is no new news on Nacho Monreal's transfer situation, but there has been talk over Mesut Ozil and one former Gunner Alexis Sanchez.

Here we round up the biggest Arsenal stories from the past 24 hours.

Mesut Ozil issue

There will always be talk about Mesut Ozil and his Arsenal future.

The German midfielder has been in and out of the side under Unai Emery, never being able to tie down a regular spot in the head coach's first XI.

There have been question marks over his future, with reports linking him to a number of clubs on the continent.

But one former player, who played alongside him for Real Madrid, has told Emery where he should be playing Ozil in his team.

Starting lineup

It's a big weekend for Arsenal and for the supporters.

It's the North London Derby at the Emirates, the one game the fans want to win above all others.

Both teams go into the match on the back of a defeat.

But who will come out on top on Sunday, and how will Unai Emery set up his team?

Here's out predicted lineup.

Lessons from Sanchez

Alexis Sanchez looks set to leave Manchester United and sign for Inter Milan on loan for the rest of the season.

His time at Old Trafford has been so far removed from his spell at the Emirates that he looked a completely different player.

Arsenal fans have always been quick to ridicule the Chilean for his United performances.

But what can the club learn from Sanchez's Old Trafford fiasco?

Here we take a look.

North London Derby flaws

Both Arsenal and Spurs have problems going into the North London Derby, as we've already alluded to.

So does it come down to who can overcome those flaws to secure all three points?

Arsenal's flaws look easier to fix in the short-term, with Spurs' problems more of a long-term solution.

So do Arsenal have the edge?

Here's a detailed look.

UEFA plea

Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur have united to urge UEFA to improve their fan experience for the major finals this season.

Last season's Champions League final in Madrid and, especially, the Europa League final in Baku were slammed by those who were forced to pay through the nose for tickets, accommodation and flights.

For the Europa League final in Azerbaijan, Arsenal and Chelsea supporters were forced to make the 5,000 round trip in order to see their team in the major final.

And the supporters' groups for all four teams have got together to put up a united front.
