Arsenal news: The Liverpool model the Gunners are adopting, Aubameyang's title hope

Arsenal are gearing up for their biggest test of the season so far.

Unai Emery takes his team to Anfield on Saturday evening for a huge clash with Liverpool.

With Manchester United and Chelsea going head-to-head on the opening weekend, and Manchester City and Spurs facing one another last weekend, it is a third straight week where two of the big six play one another.

Here we take a look at the biggest stories doing the rounds for thew Gunners in the last 24 hours.

The frontline

Arsenal will face their stiffest test of the season so far on Saturday evening when they travel to Liverpool.

Back-to-back wins over Newcastle United and Burnley have got the Gunners fans dreaming.

And a trip to Anfield, the home of the team who ran Manchester City closest last season, will give an early indication of what Arsenal can achieve this year.

The match will see the most feared front three in the league, come up against the newly-assembled front three of Arsenal, if Nicolas Pepe is handed his full debut.

Aubameyang on the title

Can Arsenal make the huge jump from fifth place to title contenders?

It seems far-fetched, with Manchester City and Liverpool almost dispatching all-comers last season, but that is the ultimate goal for the chasing pack.

And the Gunners have started well, with two wins out of two.

Liverpool is the next test this coming weekend, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who has scored in both games so far, delivered his verdict on the title race as far as Arsenal are concerned.

Smith Rowe drives fans wild

Much is expected of Emile Smith Rowe.

He is the next big thing for the Arsenal supporters and he showed just what he is capable of during a game for the U23s on Monday.

Smith Rowe, who is building up his fitness after an injury-hit season last year, scored a special goal against Brighton in the Premier League 2.

And the fans loved it.

Alexis Sanchez verdict

The days of Alexis Sanchez lighting up the Premier League appear to be long gone.

The Chilean has struggled to replicate his Arsenal form during his Manchester Untied career and he looks set to leave the Red Devils for Inter Milan before the European transfer window shuts.

And former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan will be pleased to see the back of him.

Speaking on TalkSport, Jordan felt Sanchez had 'stunk the place out' at United.
