Arsenal news: Stunning adidas third kit, Aubameyang's warning, and Emery's defensive puzzle

Arsenal's 2019/20 Premier League season is up and running.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's second half goal against Newcastle United on Sunday afternoon means the Gunners already have three points on the board ahead of this weekend's home clash against Burnley.

Before hosting the Clarets in north London, here's the latest news coming out of the Emirates Stadium in the past 24 hours.

New adidas kit unveiled

On Monday morning - less than 24 hours after the win at St James' Park, Arsenal unveiled their new adidas third kit.

And it's gone down very well amongst the majority of supporters on social media, marking it another success since the club's return to adidas after over two decades apart.

An official description of the third kit via Arsenal.com reads:

'The shirt is crafted from an elegant all-over dark navy and is complimented with yellow detailing along the sleeves and club crest, rounded off with fitted sleeve cuffs and a crew neckline with a yellow and black trim.

'Offering a unique blend of peak performance innovation and cutting-edge design, the kit features CLIMALITE technology to wick sweat. The jersey is made from recycled polyester to save resources and help decrease emissions.

'The 2019/20 Arsenal third kit is exclusively available in store and online from Arsenal and adidas until August 18.'

Aubameyang's warning

As mentioned above, the Arsenal striker is off the mark for the season.

Last term it took until game four to break his duck and he still ended up as the Premier League Golden Boot winner.

Well, it's an award he shared with Liverpool duo Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.

But the rest of the Premier League should be worried as Aubameyang has sent out a strong warning in the race to be crowned as the top scorer this season.

Commenting on an Instagram post by 433, asking how many goals he will score this season.

Aubameyang said: "A lot."

Emery's defensive puzzle

It's been a strange summer for Calum Chambers.

football.london understands that Arsenal had set a £25million asking price for him. But plans changed following Laurent Koscielny's desire to return to France.

Therefore, Chambers got a chance in pre-season, was impressive in the 1-0 win over the Magpies and looks to have risen to the challenge from David Luiz.

This hands Unai Emery a puzzle for the remainder of the season, something he will welcome as defending has been the big issue since becoming head coach.

Reiss Nelson message

The Arsenal youngster put in a decent showing against Newcastle where he caught the eye of the Match of the Day host and ex-Spurs striker Gary Lineker, who took to social media to share his thoughts.

He said: "The new arrival (sort of) for Arsenal I’m really looking forward to watching is young Reiss Nelson.

"Thought he looked a real talent whilst on loan at Hoffenheim."

To which Nelson had a response.
