Arsenal news: Nicolas Pepe latest, 'date set' for Tierney deal, defender's agent speaks out

There is just one week until the transfer deadline - and Arsenal are expected to complete some more business.

The Gunners have signed three players so far this summer, with Brazilian teenager Gabriel Martinelli joining from Ituano, before Dani Ceballos arrived on loan from Real Madrid and William Saliba signed from St Etienne, before returning to the French side on loan for the 2019/20 campaign.

Arsenal are also expected to complete a deal for Nicolas Pepe, with the Lille winger set to join in a club record deal worth around £72million.

But with just ten days until the Gunners kick off against Newcastle in their opening Premier League fixture of the season, there is still plenty of work to do, on and off the pitch.

Below, we take a look at the latest news and transfer stories from the Emirates Stadium.

Nicolas Pepe

It is set to be one of the transfer deals of the summer, as Arsenal close in on the signing of Nicolas Pepe from Lille.

The 24-year-old is expected to join the Gunners in a £72milion deal, with the Ivory Coast international travelling to London this week for a medical.

All that is missing from Nicolas Pepe's move to Arsenal is official confirmation that the Ivorian has indeed signed for the Gunners.

He was pictured entering the club's London Colney training base on Tuesday and a leaked video has emerged showing Pepe in a media shoot for the photography that will be used in his unveiling.

William Saliba was filmed in a similar set up in his behind-the-scenes reveal video after joining the club.

Arsenal fans have made it clear what they want, and the Gunners supporters may not have to wait much longer, with the confirmation expected to come sooner rather than later.

That's because Lille's president Gerard Lopez told RMC last night (Wednesday) that the deal should be made official "within the next 24 hours."

And Gunners striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang said after Arsenal's clash with Angers last night that the players are waiting for the news of his arrival too.

Kieran Tierney deal date set

Arsenal may be close to confirming their fourth senior signing of the summer with Pepe.

But a fifth capture could soon follow the Ivorian's move.

Kieran Tierney's name has been on the agenda for the Gunners all summer, and while Celtic have rebuffed bids by the north London club, the Scottish international is expected to complete a move before deadline day.

And the Scottish Daily Mail reports that an agreement between Arsenal and Celtic is set to be confirmed ahead of the first leg of the Scottish giants' Champions League third qualifying round tie against Romanian side Cluj.

The Bhoys are through to the third qualifying round of the Champions League after securing victories at home and away against Nomme Kalju, with Neil Lennon's side taking on Cluj in the first leg of the tie on August 7, the day before the transfer deadline.

Mustafi's agent speaks out

The agent of Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi has denied his client is on the verge of leaving the club .

Speculation had began to increase over the past couple of days that Mustafi, who was booed by a section of Arsenal supporters when he entered the field of play during their 2-1 pre-season defeat by Lyon on Sunday afternoon, was set to sign for Roma.

The 27-year-old endured a difficult campaign last season, but despite looking as though he may be on his way out in the current window, his agent has now hit back at the speculation linking the German international with a move to Italy.

"There's nothing in it', he told Roma News .

"There has been no contact with Roma or any other Italian club."
