Arsenal news: Newcastle eye Kieran Tierney move as Gunners told of "phenomenal mistake"

Arsenal made sure they remained top of the Premier League on Saturday with a hard-fought 1-0 win away to Leicester City.

The Gunners earned all three points thanks to Gabriel Martinelli's second-half goal. Leandro Trossard thought that he'd put Arsenal ahead in the first 45 minutes before VAR ruled it out and forced Mikel Arteta's side into a much more difficult afternoon at the King Power Stadium.

There was briefly a five-point gap at the top of the Premier League, only for Manchester City to smash Bournemouth 4-1 in an empathic response. Now the Gunners head into Wednesday's game in hand at home to Everton in a bid to give themselves a bigger cushion, as they target a first league title in 19 years.

Here's a round-up of the latest news from the Emirates.

VAR chalked off what appeared to be an opening goal scored by Leandro Trossard, but Gunners legend Wright was particularly angered by the failure to award his former side a penalty. "That was a ridiculous decision," he told told Premier League Productions. "A phenomenal mistake."
