Arsenal news LIVE: Mikel Arteta says goodbye to Man City players and staff with Gunners move imminent

Arsenal are expected to name Mikel Arteta as their next manager today after agreeing a compensation package for the Manchester City assistant coach.

The former Gunners captain is understood to have already agreed personal terms with the club Arteta having reportedly said goodbye to the Man City playes and staff.

Arsenal postponed their planned Thursday press conference ahead of this weekend’s Everton match with a media briefing now taking place today, and that could be when Arteta is unveiled to the media.

However, the Spaniard is unlikely to be in the dugout for Saturday's clash with Everton and instead should watch from the stands at Goodison Park.

Bournemouth (A) on Boxing Day looks set to be Arteta's first match in charge of Arsenal.
