Mikel Arteta is on the touchline for Manchester City's League Cup quarter-final against Oxford on Wednesday despite reports he has agreed to join Arsenal.
The City assistant coach has emerged as the strong favourite for the Emirates Stadium hotseat, with Arsenal chief executive Vinai Venkatesham pictured leaving the Spaniard's home in the early hours of Monday morning.
Arteta is finalising plans to sign a three-and-a-half year contract to be the next permanent manager after concluding talks with Arsenal director Josh Kroenke this week.
City boss Pep Guardiola, though, maintains it must be business as usual for the City staff at the Kassam Stadium, with Arteta having been his assistant since joining the club in 2016 - and the former Arsenal midfielder is, for not at least, still a City employee.
