Arsenal news: Injuries cost Gunners £24.2m, Ozil ready for Burnley, Mkhitaryan to be sold

The Premier League season is up and running and Arsenal won three points in their first game.

Attention now turns to the second weekend and the visit of Burnley.

One player in particular will be looking forward to the match, given his scoring record against the Clarets.

But while there is plenty of talk around the game with Burnley, and the involvement of certain players, there remains talk over transfers, and which players can leave for the continent still this summer.

Here are the biggest Arsenal stories from the past 24 hours.

True cost of injuries

Every team suffers with injuries during a season.

But some struggle more than most.

And Arsenal can claim to be in the 'suffering more than most' category from last season.

The number of injuries that hit them actually reduced from the previous season, but they were more severe injuries. And when they come along they cost a club a fair amount of money too.

Here's how they hit the Gunners in 2018/19.

Mkhitaryan must go

Henrikh Mkhitaryan had a tough start to the new season on Sunday.

The Armenian struggled to get into any sort of rhythm against Newcastle United, misplacing passes and generally angering the Arsenal supporters.

And one Gunners legend thinks Unai Emery should sell him this summer, with the European transfer windows still open.

Burnley excitement

Arsenal fans should be looking forward to the weekend.

After getting their season up and running with victory over Newcastle United, the Gunners follow it up with a game against Burnley this Saturday - a team they enjoy playing.

And one player in particular likes playing the Clarets too.

Here's why the Arsenal fans should be excited.

Ozil and Kolasinac update

Mesut Ozil and Sead Kolasinac were kept out of the Arsenal squad for the game with Newcastle.

That was after the pair were involved in a car-jacking incident before the season started.

The duo stayed out of the firing line, but are they ready to return to action at home to Burnley?

Here's what head coach Unai Emery had to say on the matter.
