Arsenal news: Gunners suffer Alexandre Lacazette scare, Rob Holding drops hint ahead of Chelsea

We're now less than two weeks away from the Europa League final and the Premier League's transfer window is open.

It could be a pretty busy fortnight.

Talks over Arsenal's transfer budget are already well underway and it looks like we won't know exactly what they will have at their disposal until we discover if they qualify for the Champions League by beating Chelsea at the end of the month.

They can, of course, generate more funds through player sales though the most prevalent rumour there perhaps isn't one the Gunners would like...

A centre-half remains on the shopping list, and another could even return in time for a trip to Baku...

Alexandre Lacazette transfer news

When you see that Alexandre Lacazette has a profile page on the Barcelona website you start to get worried.

According to Mundo Deportivo , the Frenchman's form this season is believed to have alerted Barcelona in regards to a potential move.

Furthermore, the report claims Lacazette is valued between €65-70million, although that fee could be lowered if the La Liga champions include one or both of Andre Gomes and Samuel Umtiti as makeweight in the deal.

The Gunners striker added fuel to the speculation last weekend as he failed to rule out a shock switch to the Camp Nou.

"It is flattering!," he told Telefoot, as per Get French Football News when asked about the La Liga outfit's reported interest.

So yeah, you definitely start to wonder.

Fortunately when you start to see the pages for Sam Clucas and Matt Jarvis too, you breathe a sigh of relief.

Rob Holding's hint

Rob Holding has sent out a cryptic tweet ahead of Europa League final which should give Arsenal fans hope that he will return from injury sooner rather than later.

Arsenal meet London rivals Chelsea in the Europa League final on Wednesday, May 29 in what is a huge match for the Gunners but could Holding be back for it?

The 23-year-old suffered a serious knee injury against Manchester United at the start of the year, having impressed in the early stages of the campaign.

Holding played in ten of the opening 15 Premier League games of the season under new head coach Unai Emery, before suffering that horror injury.

It was an injury that ruled hm out for the rest of the season, but the centre-back has delivered a cryptic message on Twitter that has got Arsenal fans talking.

Holding had been simply attempting to get back to full fitness ahead of next season originally but his latest tweet suggests he might still yet have an outside chance of facing Chelsea.

How Arsenal's defence could be difference at the end of the transfer window

Getafe centre-back Djene Dakonam is on Arsenal's radar and has been scouted on several occasions by the club this season, including by head coach Unai Emery.

They are not alone in having been impressed by the 27-year-old. football.london understands multiple Premier League clubs have showed an interest in Djene, including Everton.

However for the time being Djene's focus remains firmly on the final La Liga game of the season, where his Getafe side can qualify for the Champions League by bettering Valencia's result against Real Valladolid when they take on Villarreal.

Djene has been the stand-out player in one of La Liga's best defences this season - he has made the second most interceptions of any player in the competition behind Valencia's Gabriel Paulista - and Getafe have conceded that they will likely have to sell him this season, even for less than his £30.5m buyout clause.
